The Queensland Medical Women’s Society (QMWS) will be holding a dinner meeting on Wednesday August 27th, 7pm, at the Victoria Park Golf Club Function Venue (opposite the Medical School).
The topic for the night is Asbestos, where is it now. Mesothelioma, asbestosis and pleural plaques we know the consequences of asbestos exposure, but what do we know about the history and ongoing use of asbestos both in our own back yard and globally? Dr Edwina Duhig, Director of Anatomical Pathology at Pathology Queensland, the Prince Charles Hospital will tell you the fascinating history of asbestos, the wonder building product of the post World War 2.
The cost for the dinner is only $10 for students, which is subsidised by QMWS, and thus there are only 20 places for students (so get in quick!).
Please RSVP to SWIM (swimuq@gmail.com) or Anne Ulcoq of QMWS (rulcoq@bigpond.net.au or 0417634093) by August 22. For more information contact SWIM or QMWS.
