The United Nations Millennium Developmental Goals (UNMDG) Project is a joint venture between the UQ School of Medicine and the UQ Medical Society. It aims to incorporate issues of Developing World Health and Australian Indigenous Health into teaching and training to assist MBBS students to have relevant clinical experiences, offer extracurricular activities and raise awareness of these issues. SWIM, in conjunction with TIME (Towards International Medical Equity) and TROHPIQ (Towards Rural Outback Heath Professionals In Queensland), will be involved by helping to organise and participate a pre-elective workshop aimed at preparing year 1 student with skills and knowledge that will be relevant to these issues they will face on elective and in the future. Stay tuned for more details.
